What to Pack
- Firearm (rifle or bow)
- Ammunition (I suggest at least 2 boxes of bullets or a dozen hunting arrows)
- Binoculars
- Backpack
- Day pack
- Camera with plenty of film or memory space
- Hunting Knife
- Water Bottle
- Flashlight (I recommend a LED headlamp)
- Sleeping bag and sleeping pad appropriate for the season you are hunting in. This is especially important for goat and mule deer hunters, as you may be in tents
- Duffel Bag for taking trophies home with you
- Good, waterproof hiking boots, well broken in (two pairs is even better)
- Slippers or light shoes for wearing around camps or the lodge
- Good quality, quiet Rain Gear (top and bottom)
- Jacket
- Sweater
- Hunting shirts
- Undershirts
- Warm hunting pants
- Cool hunting pants
- Long underwear
- Warm Socks
- Light socks
- Warm gloves
- Warm hat
- Ball cap or other warm weather hat
- Toiletries
- Towel
- Passport and Driver’s License
Some other things you may want to include, but are optional:
- Video Camera
- Spotting Scope
- Range Finder
- Rubber Boots (recommended for Moose hunting, otherwise not necessary)
- GPS
- Thin Rope
- First Aid Kit
- Power Bars
- Bathing Suit (there’s a Hot Springs Resort not too far away if you finish early)
